Hi everyone,

I thought it was about time I introduced myself properly, too. :)

I’m Asu, an illustrator who has been lucky enough to wander around quite a bit of this beautiful world. I have Turkish roots, but was born and raised in Germany, and along the way I’ve had the chance to call China home for a while and, currently, Mexico.

I love cultures, stories, people, and all the little things that make us who we are. I’ve been writing, painting and making music for as long as I can remember, and I suppose I’ve always been a rather sensitive soul who feels things quite deeply.

After studying Communication Design, I found myself longing for a little more security and stability, which led me to spend more than a decade in the corporate world, working across different creative fields.

It wasn’t until my children were born that I slowly found my way back to writing and painting, back to the things that had always felt most like me. More recently, I started taking on commissions again and sharing my work on Instagram.

And then something rather lovely happened.

The wonderful response to my “Tender Art” series gave me the courage to make a decision that had probably been quietly waiting for me for a long time: to give my art my full attention and see where it might take me.

And with this little website, that journey begins. :)

Thank you, truly, for all the trust, encouragement and support you’ve given me. Without you, I honestly don’t know if I would ever have dared to take this step.

So… here we are. Let’s see where this takes us. ♡
